Rajsthan Passes Bill to give death to clild rapists.

Rajsthan become the second state after Madhya Pradesh to pass a bill providing death pentality to rapist of clild girls(age 12 year or below.)

The Bill had inserted two new sections, 376-AA and 376-DD, in the IPC. Section 376-AA provides for capital punishment or rigorous imprisonment ranging between 14 years and lifelong incarceration. Section 376-DD makes a similar provision for gang-rape of a girl child, while laying down death penalty or imprisonment from 20 years to lifelong incarceration for those convicted of the offence. Each of the persons constituting the gang will be deemed to be guilty of the offence.

National Nutrition Mission

PM launches National Nutrition Mission, and pan India expansion of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched the National Nutrition Mission and Pan India Expansion of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) covering all 640 districts of the Country at a mega event held at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan today.

  • National Nutrition Mission has been launched under the moniker of 'Poshan Mission'

The mission targets to reduce stunting, under-nutrition, anaemia among young children, women and adolescent girls and reduce low birth weight by at least 2% per annum. Though target to reduce stunting is at least 2% annum, the mission will strive to achieve reduction in stunting from 38.4% (NFHS-4) to 25% by 2022.

Diu becomes first UT to run 100% on solar power.

The harnessing of solar energy has made Diu the country’s first energy surplus Union territory and a model for an effective way for people to harness this renewable energy source.

In just three years, Diu has made rapid progress in solar power generation. The Union territory has an area of just 42 square kilometres. Despite scarcity of land, solar power plants have been installed over more than 50 acres. Diu generates a total of 13 megawatts of electricity from solar power generating facilities daily. Around 3 MW is generated by rooftop solar plants and 10 MW by its other solar power plants.


RBI fines Airel Bank ₹5 crore.

Reserve Bank of India(RBI) has imposed a penality of ₹5 crore on Airtel Payment Ltd for contravening operating guidelines for payments banks and the directions issued by it on know your customer(KYC) norms

Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2016-2030

World Health Organisation adopted Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2016-30 in many 2015.
