Odhisa govt launched "Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas"

Odisha Government launched "Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas" Programme.
Objective of this Scheme: to reach out the people of rural areas of the state & involve them in development activities through video vans. Video vans will move all over the state to aware people about government welfare schemes.

India : Once again fastest growing economy.

India regain its position of fastest growing economy. In Q3(Oct-Dec 2017) China became fastest growing economy with 6.8 percent growth rate. The slowdown was partly a consequence of the chaotic rollout of a nationwide goods and service tax (GST) last year and a shock move to take high-value currency notes out of circulation in late 2016. Now India overcome China with 7 to 7.5 percent growth rate.

Guinness world record

Gadchiroli book reading event created a new Guinness world record breaking the Guinness world record created in Turkey held on 18th may 2017
In Gadchiroli book reading event a total of 7000 reader take part in the event, while last record that was created in Turkey a total of 5754 reader participated.
Gadchiroli is a Naxal dominant region, situated in Maharatra state.

DefExpo 2018

Schedule to be held in Chennai between April 11 and 14.
DefExpo 2018 will project India’s Defence manufacturing capabilities to the world. Its Theme is India: The Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub

International Solar Alliance

India will host first International Solar Alliance (ISA) summit in March 2018 in New Delhi. In this event, over 50 country will participate.
ISA is first treaty-based intergovernmental organisation (entered into force in December 2017) to be headquartered at Gurugram, India.
Objective
  • Tapping solar energy in the countries that lie partially or fully between Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn
  • Global deployment of over 1,000GW of solar generation capacity
  • Mobilisation of investment of over US $1000 billion into solar energy by 2030
  • It also aims to bring together countries with rich solar potential to aggregate global demand, thereby reducing prices through bulk purchase

Swajal Yojna

The Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation has launched second project of Swajal Yojana at village Bhikampura, Karauli, Rajasthan. It was launched by Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation Uma Bharti.
Under the scheme, 90% of the project cost will be taken care by the Government and the remaining 10% of the project cost will be contributed by the community.
Aim: Availability of clean drinking water to every household round the year and to generates employment.
